Silver belt with coral beads – I danzatori del creposcolo (The Twilight Dancers)
Sardinian actress, Caterina Murino is also a jewellery maker and fervently defends the artisanal know-how of her island. This filigreed silver and coral belt represents to her the entire identity of the Sardinian silversmith. For the silver plating of this belt, Caterina Murino was inspired by the bronzetti, small statuettes from the Nuragic era, found during archeological digs in Sardinia. The silversmith Antonio Marogna then realised this belt in his workshop in Alghero, known for its coral. Sustainably harvested in Sardinia, coral is still today used to adorn jewellery and amulets.
