FOLK HEADDRESS OF KAPUVÀR

The model represents a wealthy folk maiden from Kapuvár. The « butterfly cob » headdress has a curved, stiff paper base covered with silver moulding and sequins on textile, attached to a long ribbon with a large jacquard bow at the center. The bow’s edges have metal moulding, and the bottom is decorated with metal fringes and sequins with beaded centers. Colored, crinkled ribbons hang from the bottom. A separate red ribbon, adorned with embroidered flowers and beads, ends in a metal thread.

Date of production: Unknow, purchased by the museum in 1966
