The term “bunt” is the basic unit of measurement for the bead trade, consisting of 1200 beads strung on thread, the price for the customer usually referred to one bunt. For large bead sizes, the seller stated how many beads 1 bunt contained. For the British Indian market, the so-called Indian bunt was used, which was shorter than bunts intended for other markets
